A real thriller .. this is what you call thrill!
Christian Bale (also seen in The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Terminator 4, The Mechinist) has beaten many heroes in the art of acting. I am very sure you would absolutely love all the movies i just mentioned above.. And so is this one with an even more intriguing tale about magicians..

It reminded me of another real good movie that saw about magic and magicians, The Illusionist. However, Prestige has its own story and thrill. With each passing moment there was more to watch and the movie got less and lesser predictable.. :D

And I got to see another great actor in this movie which I have really missed since Lord of The Rings, Andy Serkis, better known as Gollum ... :D

Inglorious Basterds

By now I have already seen movies like "Fight Club" and "A Curious Case of Benjamin Button" so at least I can't say that this is one of the best movies of Brad Pitt. Nonetheless, he is as  charming and delightful as ever. Somehow, the director of the film, Quentin Tarantino, was amazingly successful in creating a real mixture in which you taste other things than Brad Pitt alone.

It is set in the times of 2nd World War when Hitler was killing jews for the purity of human race or something like that. Somehow, a few of them were able to survive. And this is how the story unfolds till the Jew-killing machines were neutralized by an American group of mercenaries better known as "Inglorious Bastards" led by (of course none other than) Brad Pitt. The most amazing character of the movie, however, was stolen by Christoph Waltz who played --Col. Hans Landa-- and played it masterfully.. His performance might certainly have beaten Brad Pitt for once. It like the 4th idiot (Chatur Ramalingam) of the hindi movie "3 Idiots". Do enjoy the tense war/action movie.

Agora (2009)

A truely wonderful film, by now I have seen it more than once already. A perfect film which is absolutely worth watching. It featured "Rachel Wiesz" in a completely different light, making "Agora" possibly a very important movie of her career. The movie showed the possible events during the departure of humanity from Paganism (popular in earlier eras) to Christianity. How the equality of sex was killed by the religion is shown so tragically that women will like it far more than men.
Anyway, its a story of women with a very high intellect who gets trapped (and killed) in the tumultuous events of the transition of humanity from older religions to newer ones. A masterpiece acting by Rachel Wiesz and an amazing direction by director Alejandro Amenábar.
A perfect 8 is what I think it deserves.

Clash of Titans (2010)

Thank God, its not another Percy Jackson!
For those who have seen the Percy Jackson and the Olympions: The Lightening Thief (TLT) would really appreciate the efforts put in this movie. Ti's almost 100x better than TLT.

Clash of Titans (COT) started with a very lame story but got a good grip when Perseus, son of Zeus and a demi-god himself (part god, part human), starts his quest to kill the Craken, a monster created by Hades (brother of Zeus and god of the Underworld). Thanks to a lot to superior graphics used for the movie, the fights look very good. Alas, TLT scored better in choosing Uma Thurman as the Medusa and COT casting director probably wanted low profile actors only.
Anyway, people who would see it in 2D would certainly be entertained far better than what I was after watching it in 3D. Had I not been wearing those pathetic 3D glasses it might have been a real good adrenaline dose! Oh lord Zeus, please help people devise new 3D hassle free technology where there is no burden of cheap and low quality products.

A wonderful film.
A really good film featuring Daniel Craig and about the survival of a lot of people during the second world war. The film is ripe with many beautiful scenes from the winter as well as spring season that you wud definitely find soothing a lot.
The germans were killing jews and one of them was Tuvia Bielski (Daniel Craig). This is a story about how he saves many other jews and himself from the Nazi attack.

Hope you find it good too.

Sherlok Holmes

I recall having heard a phrase which was something like - "it doesn't get better than this.. ". And this is what i feel about this movie . Its an amazing product by Guy Ritchie. I have always felt a fascination for the British movies. They are clean and almost impeccable, i mean just brilliant.
Sherlock Holmes is in no league of simple commercial cinema, actually, it belongs a very refined class. The direction is just brilliant which had made me a fan of Guy Ritchie, remember his Madonna connection.

Many, I really mean many scenes are just for savoring the beauty with which the movie was crafted. Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and Rachel McAdams also performed very good.
8.5 is what I am feeling to give it now but since, I have just seen it and I am beaming with its entertainment so I must calm down first.

For now its 8/10.

Damned United

It was a few months back when I saw this movie and I still remember how badly I was searching for something related to fantasy (for DAMNED). Then I found out that this was more of a real story than a fantasy. And it definitely was worth watching. There is a very fine line between getting success and being successful, and this is what this movie portrays through a real story that happened in the football fields.
A coach (Michael Sheen) who successfully taught his local (native) team and made them rise in the game of football especially by training them to use no bad maneuvers in the game, faces a challenge of being the coach of a morally dead though number one football team, The Leeds United ..
He fails utterly which breaks him down to his heart.
I am sure you will love it too..

Boogie Nights

You wouldn't have imagined the Planet of Apes star -Mark Wahlberg to be starring in a porn movie.. the thing is he did! Though its not a porn movie actually or directly, it IS a movie about porn and porn stars.. And believe me you will find all that you can imagine to find in a movie about porn .. it was beautiful and really described the life of a possible porn star..

An excellent thriller. Typically, British in its make and direction. But very very good indeed to watch.. Daniel Craig, and others are perfect. Everything about this movie was just about perfect .. there was no moment where the heart was not racing.

This is a wonderful film and comes under the category of "Must Watch" ones..
The story is about a house called Delta at Faber college somewhere around 1968 or so.. and the so-called good-for-nothing image of the boys that stay in Delta house.

A very good comedy..

Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince

Fantastic movie.
I just loved watching this movie.. though the end was a too much abrupt an end.. Nonetheless it scores way better than lot of those other thoughtless movies that we are thrown at (:P).

Thought the movie length, it kept me bound to my iPhone on which i saw it.
A must watch if I may say so.. There was no shoddy scene in it. Almost perfect visual effects..

I can't stop my self from giving it an 8/10.


PS: it was 2:30 AM when i was damn sure that i can't take my eyes off the movie.

The Departures

If i keep watching such good korean/japanese movies i'll sure be a huge fan of their culture and dashing vision.. I saw Dance of Dragon, Azumi, and then this Departures, and all of them were a class apart movies..
The best part is that all of these movies prefer to focus on the emotions that we live with than those computer graphics to depict the story..

Definitely 8/10.

The World Unseen

What a relief that people exist in the world belonging to South Asian parts of the world and having such a profound view about any idea they have.. Initially i thought Shamim Sharif was a male director (got confused for the name and also for size of my brain being too small) and was really curious about his (now her) real life experiences that might have led him to make lesbianism oriented movies. ;)
But then i found out that Shamim was actually a female director with several awards in her bag (link) not only for this movie but also for the novel with the same name and is the root of this movie..

I just felt so delighted while watching this movie.. The world Unseen was milder than "I can't think straight" but nonetheless a very beautiful movie indeed.
Well I don't think such movies can be missed.

I Can't Think Straight

What a wonderful movie! It is an awesome, and spontaneously enjoyable movie guys. When it comes to its rythem it gets too hot to handle. First of all a lesbian affair and then Lisa Ray and Sheetal Seth... ooohh thats a hot combination..

Its a somewhat short movie so when it was going to get over, I was left wanting for more.. Imagine if it could do the same to you too.. ;)
