A Chinese Tall Story

Well when you start bad but end up well and satisfied, then it really worth all the troubles. The same thing happened with this movie.. initially it gave an impression of cheap graphics, slapstick comedy and a film barely suitable for even the kids. But then somewhere in between its comic dialogues started to give some laughs and everything got interesting. Thankfully enough,  it looked as if it was not going to end in a real cheap movie.. and it didn't.
Some of the effects were really worth an applause.

Well, if you are experimental and have some time and like for graphical entities, it sure won't leave you completely disappointed.

Up In The Air

Earlier I had heard that this movie went up for the OSCARS, and I was really excited to see it. Well, it certainly is among good movies but it doesn't hit the top notch. To me the story content was average enough to make me feel that what would OSCAR people want in a movie to be best among many? I mean this was an average good story, but with good direction and a very good performance by George Clooney and others following, it did present some substantial matter. May be, I still am a common eye for the nitty-gritty that make a movie better than others.

Anyway, I must admit that George Clooney is looking fabulous and is amazing in his performance too. I could be a very good time pass.

From Paris with Love (2010)

This is a fast/good paced action movie with no garbage at all.. everything is there that was intended to comprise the movie. And how can you miss John Travolta, of course i might have missed it for Jonathan Rys Meyers. It is good watch if you are in a mood for a `quick and good action`.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

"Wow .. another fantasy involving Gods (or to be more specific Demi-gods).." thats what I thought when I saw its trailer and then I waited till I got the movie in a good quality print. And guess what happens when I see it all the way till its end.. I was laughing at the way the director had shot the movie .. there was no trace of professionalism.. The movie outrightly lacked a thrill as if it was a B-grade movie.
The main reason for this is that though there were some real good scenes but they were probably treated more as space fillers than to really lead to some place. Actually, it appears to me that the director was thinking like- "see I could have made a better movie but since you have paid me less, feel satisfied with this much only". While watching the movie many times I was expecting a lot more but was served nothing. It was more like a fast spoon-feeding, you'll know it when you'll see it. And finally its a complete waste of the star cast it has.. though, some credit should be given for a very good casting.

Very reluctantly 6.5/10.

the 0.5 is for some good graphics in between.. especially for Hades, healing of Percy with water and the final water stunt by percy.

Restraint

Restraint was mild british thriller which i liked. Its about a wealthy man who is agoraphobic, meaning 'fearful of public places', who encounters an almost criminal couple running from police.
The couple soon finds out his weakness and start blackmailing him. But then the story twists and takes another turn.
Clean like British movies normally are.
Andrew (Stephen Moyer) and Dale (Teresa Palmer -) both look really good.

This movie is a riot .. I was confused whether I liked it or not.. But the thing was that I completely enjoyed this movie..
Creativity doesn't get better than this. You can't call it cheap.. but then you can't also call it serious. This looks like more of an AMAZINGLY GOOD experiment..
Jason Statham rocks, with all the sex, nudity, action, killings etc this is f***ing cool action movie.. Height of creativity.

Moreover, how is possible that Salma Hayek [;)] and Pierce Brosnan can't generate some interest in a movie? Both of them were very good..
Both of them are thieves and usually steal diamonds from high security displays.

Except for the banality of the story everything else was good..

House of 1000 Corpses

The reviews were too good for this movie, but somehow I felt that there was too much halloween part in it.. more gore and blood becomes too much .. more sex (exposure etc.) is fine though .. ;D

The reason for this kind of idea from me is that I am not a huge fan of gory and bloody scenes as such, except for may be in "The Frontiers", "28 Days Later", "28 Weeks Later".. those are excellent movies from my point of view .. and somehow I could digest all that..

Anyways I would give it somewhere around 6..

The Push

I liked push .. especially for the fact that this story has a huge promise. It already has the complexity necessary to generate a an intriguing tale but it all depends on the scriptwriter.

For now it appeared to me that with all the content it could generate a huge and successful sequel to it.. I hope they do coz that wud be lovely to see..

Not a too good movie.. but surely a nice action movie.
yes but certain scenes were really well shot..
I kinda liked it. A very naive direction is seen throughout the movie, actually a old-fashioned direction is a more closer word. The girl playing "Azumi" was really fantastic in acting but not that much in action scenes. But looked sexy. ;)

I Really Hate My Job

A ladies movie for sure.. as they would certainly be able to read more than men can see on the faces and beneath of all the five good actresses..
Some of the moments were just hilariuos..
Like when amid some angry scene the ladies would burst out and dance on the music.. You can also catch a glimpse of sexy and nude Neve Campbell (here;not my post, though).
