Centurion is a movie about escape of a few ROMAN soldiers (hero being one of them) from a deadly tribe, THE PICTS, especially when almost all the things go against them.. A march onto the PICTS itself turns into a sacrilege of their lives.. The movie has been shot in gorgeous mountains and icy terrain most of the times and that partly made this movie a visual treat.
The hero, a mere soldier, is deft to a certain degree and a bright one too.. But his pack is being chased by a sexy young girl (Olga Kurylenko) who is brighter and an even better tracker .. Later I found that an even better girl was waiting for the hero .. hehee.. who saves his ass too..
Remember they say that there is a woman behind every successful man .. there is a mild twist in the end watch it out..

Not a great one but a good watch with some of the scenes reminiscent of Gladiator and Defiance..

He is helped indirectly by a Russian teenager who dies during childbirth leaving clues to a midwife (Naomi Watts: King Kong) in her journal that ties her child to a rape involving a violent Russian mob family.

Zabbardast performance by Viggo Mortensen and Naomi looks good.

Prince of Persia : The Sands of Time

The movie isn't exactly as the game goes but is definitely an entertainer, nonetheless.I don't remember any brothers from the game (surely they were not present in the game) or any fight for the kingdom except between the Nizam (Vizir in the game) and the prince.. and of course the Dagger was originally located in India only ..

But coming back to the movie.. It's a good effort especially worth noticing were the scene when prince uses the dagger and has been taken from the (POP:The Two Thrones).. Gemma Arterton looks most stunning during the ostrich race.. The Hasshashins were used very aptly.. without them the movie might not have been convincing..

Eclipse: The Twilight Saga

Summary: The only problem is that you need to see all the parts to really enjoy the full story (The Saga)...

It's really difficult for me to forthrightly say that I was a little disappointed by this part of the Twilight Saga.. The earlier two version were really good.. I saw a negative response for The New Moon from many people but thats not how I felt about it.. I enjoyed watching it .. But all this doesn't save Eclipse from settling a little down the notch..I had really high expectations from it and a disappointment is due when expectations are high.. :D
The only scene worth watching were the Chase of Victoria which comes pretty early in the movie and then the final battle between the new-borns and the new-found wolf-vampire alliance. And may be the scene when Bella and Edward were alone at his home (wink) would have had some appeal .. but everybody must decide for themselves..
Nonetheless, the most stupid part of this part was the triangle between Bella, Jacob and Edward. I almost hated it whereas inside I do admit it to be an animal alive and fully imaginable. 

Finally, I hope the last installment of the Saga has some content in it..
I do pray that at least the last one must not be a total disappointment..

Information you should have: If you are getting caught quite often by traffic police, then please read on.

From now onwards, the Traffic Police cannot catch a motorist just to examine the driving license or vehicle documents. They can catch you only if you have violated any traffic laws or if you are driving drunk. Remember that when caught for traffic violation, the fine you pay must be limited to the violation. In other words, the police can't bloat the bill saying that you have no insurance cover or emission certificate, etc.

Many motorists do not know this. According to the law, no policeman can slap a penalty on you just because you have no insurance or emission certificate. If you have not purchased insurance cover for your vehicle, then the police officer must issue a notice, not impose penalty. You must be given 15 days' time to purchase insurance cover and one week for obtaining the emission certificate. Days later, meet the sub-inspector at his station with the insurance cover or emission certificate, so that he will annul the charge at once.

Police can fine you only if you fail to produce these documents within the stipulated period. If your vehicle is brand new, then you need not bother about obtaining the emission certificate for one full year. In response to a question as to why policemen fine people instantly without giving them time to obtain insurance cover or emission certificate, Additional Commissioner for Traffic Praveen Sood said, "Yes, it is a mistake. People must force policemen to issue notice or complain to me at least the following day. The best way to teach the police a lesson is by filing a written complaint with their higher officials and, a week later, using the Right
to Information Act (RTI) to know the action taken against them. Remember, any question or application filed under RTI cannot be ignored and no official is bold enough to ignore the RTI Act.

This is one aewsome movie which is really worth watching twice .. not because you want to enjoy the same thing again and again .... but the second time gives you the oppurtunity to laugh at the situation.

The first time I felt thrilled for what was going on..I was focused on Leonardo .. it was really good but ...when i watched it the second time (now that the scenes were clear to me)
I found that the side actors had done an even better job. And rather than being a thriller it turned out to be a huge comedy. The script has been so smart that its really difficult to catch it the first time..

A Nerd's View on existence of Santa

There are approximately two billion children (persons under 18) in the world. However, since Santa does not visit children of Muslim, Hindu, Jewish, or Buddhist (except maybe in Japan) religions, this reduces the workload for Christmas night to 15% of the total, or 378 million (according to the population reference bureau). At an average (census) rate of 3.5 children per household, that comes to 108 million homes, presuming there is at least one good child in each.

Santa has about 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, assuming east to west (which seems logical). This works out to 967.7 visits per second. This is to say that for each Christian household with a good child, Santa has around 1/1000th of a second to park the sleigh, hop out, jump down the chimney, fill the stockings, distribute the remaining presents under the tree, eat whatever snacks have been left for him, get back up the chimney, jump into the sleigh and get onto the next house.

Assuming that each of these 108 million stops is evenly distributed around the earth (which, of course, we know to be false, but will accept for the purposes of our calculations), we are not talking about 0.78 miles per household; a total trip of 75.5 million miles, not counting bathroom stops or breaks. This means Santa's sleigh is moving at 650 miles per second - 3,000 times the speed of sound. For purposes of comparison, the fastest man made vehicle, the Ulysses space probe, moves at a pokey 27.4 miles per second, and a conventional reindeer can run (at best) 15 miles per hour. The payload of the sleigh adds another interesting element.

Assuming that each child gets nothing more than a medium sized LEGO set (two pounds), the sleigh is carrying over 500 thousand tons, not counting Santa himself. On land, a conventional reindeer can pull no more than 300 pounds. Even granting that flying reindeer can pull 10 times the normal amount, the job can't be done with eight or even nine of them -Santa would need 360,000 of them. This increases the payload, not counting the weight of the sleigh, another 54,000 tons, or roughly seven times the weight of the Queen Elizabeth (the ship, not the monarch).

A mass of nearly 600,000 tons traveling at 650 miles per second creates enormous air resistance - this would heat up the reindeer in the same fashion as a spacecraft re-entering the earth's atmosphere. The lead pair of reindeer would absorb 14.3 quintillion joules of energy per second each. In short, they would burst into flames almost instantaneously, exposing the reindeer behind them and creating deafening sonic booms in their wake. The entire reindeer team would be vaporized within 4.26 thousandths of a second, or right about the time Santa reaches the fifth house on his trip. Not that it matters, however, since Santa, as a result of accelerating from a dead stop to 650 m.p.s. in .001 seconds, would be subjected to acceleration forces of 17,000 g's. A 250 pound Santa (which seems ludicrously slim considering all the high calorie snacks he must have consumed over the years) would be pinned to the back of the sleigh by 4,315,015 pounds of force, instantly crushing his bones and organs and reducing him to a quivering blob of pink goo. Therefore, if Santa did exist, he's dead now. MERRY CHISTMAS!!!

SITUATION
Three patients in a mental institution prepare for an examination given by the head psychiatrist. If the patients pass the exam, they will be free to leave the hospital. However, if they fail, the institution will detain them for seven years.

WHAT HAPPENED..
The doctor takes the three patients to the top of a diving board overlooking an empty swimming pool, and asks the first patient to jump.

The first patient jumps head first into the pool and breaks both arms.
Then the second patient jumps and breaks both legs.
The third patient looks over the side and refuses to jump.

"Congratulations! You're a free man. Just tell me why didn't you jump?" asked the doctor.
To which the third patient answered, "Well Doc, I can't swim!"

Can't describe it as a less than very good movie..

Without too much of fighting sequences, blood and gore, the crew of the movie has been able to generate a really good entertainment.

The most fantastically made scene in Twilight was probably the baseball game scene when the whole vampire family goes for an outing. The background music the location etc. rock the screen.  Later when the rogue vampires barge in .. it gets even more interesting. The lead rogue vampire is beautiful, se**, and ooohhh..

However, the most sexy of the girls was Ashley Greene (Alice in the movie), I leave the girls to keep deciding which of the boys was more se**. Of course, Pattinson has a definite edge over the wolf guy .. heheeh e .. :D

The film has been arguably the best vampire movie till date, and in a sense it might be when the love and affection angle is a stronger consideration. However, if action is what you want in a vampire movie.. probably Underworld can't be beaten by Twilight in any sense.. From Underworld series I started liking Kate Beckinsale..

An awesome ghazal by ghulam ali..

Ghulam Ali is a pakistani ghazal singer.

This is one of the few ghazals that i recently heard and found to be really good ..
I was going home late in the evening and a ghazal program on FM 94.3 aired this nice piece.. instantly, I was in love with it .. :D
